Marti's At Midday
If you are in Normaltown stop by Marti's At Midday. They are a locally owned gourmet cafe that has some of the best sandwiches and salads in Athens. They are located on 1280 Prince Avenue and offer catering. Located in Normaltown for over 20 years, you know they are good if they have been around in Athens for that long. All their sandwiches are amazing from the Scott, a ham and cheese sandwich on pita bread with apricot mayo, to Jay's favorite, a buffalo chicken salad sub. Their founder Marti passed away in 2020, so get some friends together and show some support to a local Athens business.
Cravings
Conveniently located in downtown Athens at 480 E Broad Street, Craving's does not disappoint with their subs. Their sandwiches are reasonably priced and you can get desert or Boba Tea to go with your meal. If you stop by, get the Oconee Club named after the County Athens is located in. It has delicious turkey and ham, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese on delicately toasted wheat bread. My personal favorite is the Spicy chicken Sandwich, their cilantro ranch sauce is just so good.

Home.made has humble beginnings starting in the founders home Mini in 2006. It then moved to its current location in 2011 on Baxter Street. Since 2011 itt has won accolades and awards including winning "Taste of Athens." Their menu has much more delicious foods than just sandwiches, but their subs are what they are known for. Their Pork Belly BLT with fried pickles on top is incredible.
White Tiger Gourmet
Located in Downtown Athens on 217 Hiawassee avenue the White Tiger is a little hole in the wall you would not expect to have some of the best sandwiches in Athens. If you are a fan of barbeque then this might be your new spot. Their BBQ Pork Sandwich has house smoked pork on kaiser roll with their in house Barbeque sauce. If you like salmon like myself, their seared salmon ciabatta will melt in your mouth with flavor. Their house barbeque sauce is so good you might want to get some to go!
