Say hello to Minnie Suram, a sophomore at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) majoring in Management Information Systems with a minor in Communication Studies. Born in India, she moved to the United States when she was just two years old and has been living between her hometown Cumming, Georgia and college town Athens, Georgia ever since. While she's known she wanted to stay in-state for college to be close to friends and family, she didn't realize that UGA would so quickly become the best kind of home away from home.
When Minnie first applied to UGA, she really didn't know what she was going to do over the course of the next four years but, once she stepped foot inside the gleaming halls of Terry the College of Business, a clear path started to take shape. She loves the potential that the business school offers and has quickly fallen in love with an entire community of people! She admires the dedication of her professors and takes a real interest in the vast array of courses that the school offers. At UGA and within Terry, Minnie loves to participate and take initiative in her extracurriculars, one of which is re-Presenting Asian Americans, an organization for which she is the Executive Committee Member. She is a part of an initiative to provide professional and academic resources to the minority Asian American community at UGA. Being a part of such a great organization has introduced her to many new people and forged new friendships with people that have the same values as her!
Minnie's hobbies include puzzling, watching sitcoms, and learning about the African diaspora. She loves to read murder mysteries and finished 168 books in 2022! When she's with her friends, Minnie enjoys visiting local Boba cafés where her go-to order is always a mango milk tea. She lives with four roommates and loves to unwind with them on the weekends by watching classic Bollywood movies. Every summer, she goes on road trips around the country with her family and has been to so many cool and exciting places! So far, the breathtaking waters of Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains have been her favorite. But she hopes to start traveling outside of the country this year! First stop: Greece!
