Depending on where your UGA off campus housing is, you might be able to walk to campus. Being only a short distance away from Downtown Athens also makes it easy to study in one of the many coffee shops, or pick up an item at the East Broad Street Target.

Most incoming freshmen or transfers contemplate joining Greek Life. For most people, it is a great idea to meet people and network. However, UGA is also a large school with many opportunities to meet people, so if you don't think you would enjoy a sorority, there are other places to meet people! Lots of UGA colleges have an extensive network if you are looking for connections in your professional life. The negative part of sororities is that it does cost money, more than some other organizations at UGA. However, there are a few options to lower costs if needed, but it usually depends on which sorority you are in. Joining a sorority will give you a lot of good memories and friends if that's what you choose!
