UGA Sorority Row

Athens Apartments near Sorority Row

If you are or plan to be involved in Greek Life, look for UGA Sorority Row apartments in your apartment hunt. The University of Georgia has a large Greek Life community with a few ways to get involved. Most people know about Fall Rush, which is what most girls do to join a sorority. This typically starts a few days for classes, and then you take a break for classes and resume the next weekend, ending in Bid Day. After this, they have continuous bidding, where a sorority can keep adding girls for the next week or so if they are not at capacity. You are more likely to get these spots if you know someone in the sorority already. Lastly, you can do Spring Rush. This is a much more casual event, with fewer girls overall than fall. If you do get a bid, your sorority house will most likely be on sorority row, which is on Milledge Avenue. Since you will want to be close to your house if you're not living in it, you'll most likely be looking for UGA apartments near Sorority Row.

Things to Do Near UGA Sorority Row

Luckily, Athens apartments near Sorority Row have plenty of things to do around them. Milledge Avenue is one of the streets at the intersection of Five Points, where there is plenty of restaurants, workout studios, and fun shops only a 5–10-minute walk away. There is also an Earth Fare for any of your grocery needs! Sorority Row is also very close to downtown Athens and UGA's campus. Depending on where your UGA off campus housing is, you might be able to walk to campus. Being only a short distance away from Downtown Athens also makes it easy to study in one of the many coffee shops, or pick up an item at the East Broad Street Target.

On the Fence About UGA Sororities?

Most incoming freshmen or transfers contemplate joining Greek Life. For most people, it is a great idea to meet people and network. However, UGA is also a large school with many opportunities to meet people, so if you don't think you would enjoy a sorority, there are other places to meet people! Lots of UGA colleges have an extensive network if you are looking for connections in your professional life. The negative part of sororities is that it does cost money, more than some other organizations at UGA. However, there are a few options to lower costs if needed, but it usually depends on which sorority you are in. Joining a sorority will give you a lot of good memories and friends if that's what you choose! If you are still unsure, you can always wait for the spring rush, where the more casual style can be less nerve-wracking.
