Apartments near The Arch in Athens, GA

The Arch

When looking for a place to live this school year, you should look for UGA apartments near the Arch. The Arch is situated between North Campus and downtown Athens and is a piece of history. Not to mention one of the most recognizable UGA landmarks! The Arch used to be part of the fence enclosing the university, but now it stands as a symbol of the University of Georgia and Athens. The three pillars represent wisdom, justice, and moderation. For most UGA students, the best apartments in Athens are near the Arch. The location and views during all months of the year make the Arch a great place to try to live nearby.

Finding Apartments near The Arch

Downtown Athens is on the small side, and therefore there are only so many choices for apartments. Most people are looking for a good location when apartment shopping and the Arch is one of the best locations. Being right in between downtown and campus makes it super easy to grab food and study in the main library! Or be able to go back to your apartment for lunch in between classes. Therefore, you will be looking at more expensive options most likely. If you are ok with a longer walk to the Arch, you will have a lot more options downtown. There are even several UGA studio apartmentoptions downtown!

Surrounding Areas

Apartments near the UGA Arch have no shortage of restaurants to choose from, with Clayton Street and Broad Street nearby. There is also a Target only a minute walk from the Arch, with all the essentials you could need. However, you are only a short drive to the nearest Trader Joe's and Publix if you need to shop for more. If you need some retail therapy, there are plenty of boutiques and shops like Urban Outfitters to help you out, only five minutes from the Arch.

Transportation

Athens apartments near the Arch give you plenty of options on how to get around the city. The Arch is on North campus, and therefore a five-minute walk to main campus. If you have a class closer to South or East campus, the Arch also has a bus stop for both UGA buses and Athens Transit buses. One of these buses will be able to get you to almost anywhere you need on campus. This also includes Atlanta Highway and Five Points. If you prefer to drive, you'll be happy to hear that most large apartments downtown will now have a parking garage, so you don't have to worry about parking your car in a faraway lot.

Why you should consider living by The Arch

The grounds around the Arch are beautiful during any time of the year and are a great place to walk and enjoy the scenery. You will be within walking distance of so many restaurants, boutiques, and fitness studios. If you want to feel like you are living in the heart of Athens, living near the Arch is for you!
