Ericka Joiner, originally from Gainesville, Georgia, began her academic journey at Georgia College & State before transferring to the University of Georgia in Athens. At UGA, she is pursuing a bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Consumer Economics. Ericka's decision to join the UGA community was driven by the abundant opportunities the university offers and her love for SEC football games. Ericka's interest in psychology began with her love for consumer behavior, and she recently added economics as a minor to enhance her future marketing career.
Ericka values the spirited atmosphere at UGA that she fondly refers to as "Athens Air." Inspired by the driven individuals who surround her, Ericka is constantly pushing her own limits and striving for personal growth,. Last year, Ericka actively participated in Alpha Gamma Delta, a sorority where she held the position of director of community service. In this role, she devoted her efforts to combating hunger by orchestrating fundraising events.
Outside of academics, Ericka finds joy in various pursuits such as reading, exploring new destinations, and spending quality time with her friends. Lately, she's been captivated by the works of author Emily Henry, often delving into her books while lounging by the pool. Ericka's travels have led her to the Bahamas, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Among these, Costa Rica holds a special place in her heart due to its simple lifestyle and "Pura Vida" philosophy which she incorporates into her daily life.
When it comes to apartment hunting, Ericka looks for pet-friendly apartments to accommodate her cat, Mikasa. She also favors locations within walking distance to campus and seeks apartments with balconies that offer scenic views. In her current apartment complex, she values the excellent management that makes sure to take care of their residents by hosting events like Chick-fil-A days, lively pool parties, and coffee mornings.
