Terry College of Business is the prestigious business college for the University of Georgia. It has a 35% selectivity rate and is recognized as one of the top 40 graduate business programs. The degrees offered through Terry include Accounting, Economics, Finance, Legal Studies, Management, MIS, Marketing, Real Estate and Risk Management. There are four master's degrees offered for Accounting, Marketing Research, the Full-Time MBA and Economics.

How to get into the Terry College of Business

To get into Terry College of Business you must be currently enrolled during a semester to apply. This means for example, if you transfer you must apply for Terry during the semester you actually go to UGA not before. After you settle into your new student apartment near UGA Business School and start attending classes you should buckle down on your Terry application, because you do not want to forget. Application deadlines are very strict, so you do not want to miss them. Applications open on July 1st and close September 7th during the fall. Applications open November 28th and close January 25th for Spring semester applicants. The courses that are required to have been completed before applying include Math 1113, ACCT 2101, BUSN 3000, and all core classes. When you are applying you have to submit your ACT or SAT scores as well. When you are in the application you will be asked to select a major for your first choice and a secondary option. Make sure you think long and hard about what major you put in, because you can not change it, unless you reapply the following semester for a different major. 3 short essay questions will appear next and finally you hit submit.

About UGA's Terry College of Business

The full name of the Terry College of Business is C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry College of Business. It was founded in 1912 making it the first business school in the South. Originally it was founded as the School of Commerce by the Board of Regents. The first student to graduate got a Bachelor of Science in commerce degree in 1915. Terry got its official name in 1991 when it was renamed from the College of Business Administration to Terry College of Business named after Herman and Mary Terry. They were benefactors who have helped in research fellowships, scholarships and facility upgrades.

After you get into the Terry College of Business you really will not have classes outside the Terry buildings.
